North Station with the Green Line (T) Subway.
The shortest subway line is in West Virginia. It is in the Memorial Tunnel which is built through Paint Creek Mountain. It consists of a station about 800 ft of track and two subway cars that were originally part of the Green Line in Boston. It is not a revenue system, it is part of a research project of the Center for National Response and is used to conduct anti-terrorism training exercises.
If you want to take just the subway, you can get on at the Aquarium stop which is right outside the aquarium. That is the Blue Line. Take that inbound to Government Center and switch to the Green Line outbound. Get on a train that says Lechmere on the front/sides and take that three stops to Science Park. The science museum is right there. Source: I have lived in Boston for three years, have a blog on things to see/do in Boston, RelaxLaughExploreBoston.wordpress.com

The Boston T subway system, specifically the Red Line, extends north to Alewife station in Cambridge. This station is located approximately 6 miles from downtown Boston. Other lines, like the Orange Line, also serve northern areas but do not extend as far north as the Red Line's Alewife station.
The Green Line typically refers to the boundary established in 1949 that separated Israeli-controlled territory from Jordanian-controlled territory after the Arab-Israeli War. An example of this line is the border that runs between the West Bank and Israel, which has implications for geopolitics and land disputes in the region. In addition to its historical context, the term "Green Line" is also used in urban planning, such as in public transportation systems, like the Green Line of the Boston Subway.
