It stands for Energy=mass times the speed of light squared
Albert Einstein
E = m c² is, of course, a theory. But it has not been disproved yet.
Albert Einstein. The Equation is E = m*c^(2) That is E is Energy m is mass c^2 is speed of light squared.
No German Physicist is popularly associated with that equation. Dr. Albert Einstein is. He was born in Austria, lived in Switzerland, and spent the last quarter of his life as a USA citizen.

C is the speed of light
Albert Einstein
The formula was published in 1905. Einstein likely formulated it some time earlier.
Many physicists, including Albert Einstein, have devoted substantial attention and thought to both of them.
energy=mass of object multiplied by the speed of light2
E = m c² is, of course, a theory. But it has not been disproved yet.
If you mean E=MC2 (squared) then it means Energy= Mass x the speed of light (represented by the C) squared. Einstein's theory of relativity.
It's a method of determining amounts of energy, but it also demonstrates the relationship between energy and mass.
