I'm just wondering if you are mixing Remembrance Day up with Remembrance Sunday.

In the United Kingdom, although two minutes of silence is observed on 11 November itself, the main observance is on the second Sunday of November, Remembrance Sunday. Ceremonies are held at local war memorials. Along with a big parade in London.

Armistice day was the day of the signing of the armistice that ended the 1st World War. Remembrance Day reflects the memory of all wars and is on the same date.
