The Four Seasons was composed by Antonio Lucio Vivaldi(March 4, 1678 - July 28, 1741) who was born and raised in the Republic of Venice.The Four Seasons, a series of four violin concertos is his best known work and a highly popular Baroque music piece. He was however a prolific composer and his works include 500 concertos, 46 operas, 73 sonatas, saced works and numerous other pieces.

The Four Seasons, or Le quattro stagoni, is a set of four violin concertos written by Antonio Vivaldi in 1723.
There is no record of what immediately spurred the composition of the Four Seasons. They are part of a larger collection of 12 violin concerti titled "The Contest Between Harmony and Invention." The Four Seasons is one of the first examples of "program music" that tells a story. Each "season" is accompanied by a poem describing what the music portrays. We don't know whether Vivaldi or someone else wrote the four poems.
