Alexander entered the Indian subcontinent and won an epic war with Porus. His empire subsequently stretched uptil the banks of Indus (in modern day Pakistan).
At the end of his Indian campaign, Alexander's army revolted and he turned back for Persia. After his death, the empire was divided up between the generals. Seleucus ruled over much of the middle east and uptil the banks of Indus. Most of the Indian territory, meanwhile, came to be ruled by the native Mauryan dynasty.
