The US Constitution decrees that the term of a President always begins and ends at noon on the twentieth day of January every four years.
After October 15th, 1933, (which was when Section 1 of the Twentieth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America became effective), the term of office of every prospective President who did not die or resign while in office ended at noon on the twentieth day of January of the same year their respective terms would have ended notwithstanding the Twentieth Amendment.
