prithiviraj chuhandefeated muhmad ghori.
b'coz mahmud ghaznavi was interested in only plundering and looting the wealth of india and not in establishing his territory. but muhammad ghori established his territory in india even after once being defeated by brave rajput PRC but instead of being depressed , he again conquered india and even was successful. so muhammad ghori and not mahmud ghaznavi is regarded as the real founder of muslim empire in india
Muhammad Ghori defeated Prithviraj Chauhan in the Second Battle of Tarain (1192) and laid the foundations of Muslim rule in India. After establishing his empire Ghori returned to Afghanistan, leaving Delhi in the hands of his trusted slave general, Qutub-ud-din Aibak. Upon the death of Ghori in 1206, Qutub-ud-din proclaimed himself as the Sultan of Delhi and established the Slave Dynasty in India (1206-1290). This marked the beginning of Delhi Sultanate.
Prithvirāj Chauhān was captured and killed by Sultan Muḥammad Shahābuddīn Ghorī in the second battle of Tarain. After the war, Ghori went back to Afghanistan making Qutb-ud-din Aybak (Muhammad Ghori's most capable general) the Sultan of India. Ghori was killed by khokar Jat after several years.
