Answer:It was only two centuries before Muhammad that idols were introduced into Arabia. Before the year 360 AD, the Arabs were all following Abraham. After idolatry became the norm, people who refused to worship them (like Muhammad) were called "Haneef"s. They were the people who refused any but the One, Unseen God. The word "Haneef" actually comes from Abraham.
Muhammad's teaching upset many Arabs because it challenged their traditional beliefs and practices, such as idol worship and tribal customs. His message of monotheism and social justice threatened the established power structures in Mecca and called for a shift in societal norms, leading to resistance from those who benefited from the existing order.
Jahilyya refers to the age of ignorance before the revelations to the Prophet Muhammad.
Arab is an ethnicity, not a religion. Therefore there is no place of worship which is suitable for all Arabs. Most Arabs are Muslims and therefore pray in Mosques, but some Arabs are Christian and pray in Churches. Additionally, some Arabs are Jewish, Zoroastrian, Baha'i, Druze, and Yazidi, which leads to them praying in distinct houses of worship for those religions. Finally, some Arabs (although few are vocal about it) are Atheists and therefore do not worship at all.
Mecca was an important city for Arabs on the Arabian peninsula, before Islam because it was a worship place for them.
Prophet Muhammad (S), before receiving revelation, used to meditate to God in the Cave of Hira, and didn't worship the idols that the Pagans were worshiping as gods.
Because they knew it was the House of Abraham. Their history recorded that Abraham and his first born son, Ishmael had built it for the worship of the One God. In fact, it was the first house of worship for the One God built on Earth, according to the Qur'an. The Meccans, before Muhammad, believed in the One God of Abraham; but they mistakenly fell into the belief in other false gods, as well.
