No. Gold is not a magnetic substance.Well ... I guess if the sample is attracted to a magnet, then you've discovered that the sample is definitely not gold. That proof oughta be worth something.
Magnets and magnetic fields occur naturally in nature. However, i am unsure as to who first created the first commercial magnet.
The magnetic rock lodestone was found in Magnesia, Anatolia. This is how the word 'magnet' was thought to have been created.
As Faraday discovered, turning a magnet in a coil of wire generates electricity. This is how even today electricity is created, but we use water to turn the magnets in hydroelectricity and so on. It is useful because it is very efficient and it has a mechanical advantage: the force needed to turn the magnet is lss than the force generated by the magnet turning. So basically, to sum it up, the only way to generate electricity is wih a magnet and a solenoid (coil)
A magnet that isn't always a magnet.

the first artifial magnetwas discovered in Thailand. it was invented by cruize limoned but then the magnet was bought by an monk to Greece

No one really knows who discovered Earth. But One day, we will find out who discovered Earth and we'll finally have answer.
I believe it was in Europe, during the 14-16 century,in a small market town.
magnet where not made they were discovered,900 years ago lodstone was discovered it contain special properties to attract other material such as magnetic material
The Ancient Greeks discovered loadstone, a magnetic iron ore, in Magnesia (giving magnets their name). They are creditied with discovering many magnetic properties and possibly the magnet itself.

First of all magnes discovered magnets and two like poles of a magnet never attract. you can see the tips of the magnets are the poles they are the places where most magnetic things stick Thanks Gaurang
by using their on identifyng magnet GLASSes of thermodaynamics
