George De Polens George discovered the Ohio River in 1555, he started to explore the Mississippi in the early 1560's, after a few years living near the Ohio. George was a very brave and heroic man, he was in the streets, and sneaked his way to school, learned many things from his father who died a few years from rat bites. He liked exploring, and he was very interesting and the first one to agree to have a trip, George De Polens died in a camp fire with 3 other tribe chiefs set by the tribe enemies on December 2, 1571.
