The Flute was developed before written language, so we do not have an exact record. The earliest known flute was found in Slovenia and dates to 41,000 BC. A later flute was discovered in Germany, which dates to only a few thousand years later.

The Flute was invented during the Prehistoric times. The flute was the very first instrument to be made on earth. no one knows specifically when in the prehistoric times but evidence has shown that a flute which was found in pieces was about to be 30,000 years old.
That's a difficult one to answer, but drums from Ancient China have been discovered that date back about 4,000 years. There may yet be older ones out there that have yet to be discovered by archaeologists!
The flute appeared in different forms and locations around the world. A three-holed flute made from a mammoth tusk was discovered in 2004, and two flutes made from swans' bones excavated a decade earlier are among the oldest known musical instruments. The flute has been dated to prehistoric times. A fragment of the femur of a juvenile cave bear, with two to four holes, found at Divje Babe in Slovenia and dated to about 43,100 years ago, may also be an early flute.

A slide whistle is a form of flute. Alternate titles for this particular instrument include swanee whistle, piston flute, or jazz flute. Therefore, the slide whistle is categorized as a wind instrument and is equipped with a fipple, which is a constricted mouthpiece, and a tube with a piston attached.
