James Chadwick discovered the neutron in 1932.
Leo Szilard got the idea of the neutron chain reaction as a means of releasing the energy of the atom in 1933 and filed a patent on this process in 1934 (the patent was granted in 1936 and promptly classified by the British Admiralty to prevent Germany from seeing it).
However the breakthrough that made atomic bombs possible was the discovery of nuclear fission of uranium in 1939 by a joint German and Swedish team.
the atomic bomb was not discovered, it was invented then built.
To the defeat of Japan.
The Manhattan Project, which was a research and development program during World War II, led to the creation of the first atomic bombs. The project was primarily based in the United States and resulted in the successful testing of the atomic bomb in New Mexico in 1945. The bombs developed under the Manhattan Project were later used in the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, ultimately leading to the end of the war in the Pacific.
after the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbour in Hawaii, the U.S declared war on them, which lead to atomic bombs being dropped on Hiroshima and Nagosaka in Japan, which then surrenderd, though there was alot of fighting in the Pacific islands.
Joseph Stalin, the dictator of the Soviet Union was the leader of Russia, and he did get much out of Roosevelt during conferences. He soon learned the basics of building an atomic bomb as Roosevelt was a bit loose with the subject. That lead to the Cold War in which there were enough atomic and nuclear bombs and missiles to destroy the globe, or the Earth.
Her research did not lead to the atomic bomb. The only thing that she discovered that was used in the early atomic bombs was the element polonium (in the neutron source initiators), and it was replaced later with electrically activated tritium fusion neutron sources. Her research did foreshadow some of the radiation burns, etc. experienced by survivors of the atomic bombings though.
The neutron was discovered by James Chadwick.

To the defeat of Japan.
First of all, because of the immediate destruction they cause. Atomic bombs flatten EVERYTHING in their radius due to the enormous amount of energy released on impact. Secondly, because of the long-term damage these bombs cause. Radiation is released form these bombs. Radiation is commonly a carcinogen, or a cancer causing agent. It can lead o birth defects, diseases, and very often fatalities.
Fission of Uranium-235
no
Lead's atomic mass is 207.2 Its atomic number is 82
A nuclear arms race combined with fear and suspicion could lead to a disastrous nuclear war.
It was used in olden day bombs but not today!
