I have been denied what I think is my right to vote for which democratic candidate would best fill the role as President, should either of them be elected. I consider this denial a blockade or "funneling" of the popular vote in order to cut corners in the election process. This seems to be against the grain of democracy, especially for those of us who'd like to vote for the issues and not go by straight-party means.
The person who deserves to be President is the person who wins the election as laid out by the Constitution. Each person is going to think that their favorite candidate deserves the position.
I don't think so, but Rosanne Barr was a candidate in the U. S. Presidential Election of 2012.
That wouldn't happen...but if no one ran for President and VP, then the Speaker of the House, then President Pro Tempore, and then Secretary of State. It all depends on the order of succession.
Yes, there have been several Republican women who have run for president. Notably, Carly Fiorina ran for the Republican nomination in 2016, and Michele Bachmann ran in the 2012 election. However, no Republican woman has ever been nominated by a major party for the presidency.
Virginia does not have party registration. In Virginia a person can vote in one primary, republican or democrat, but not both. So a republican can vote in the democratic primary. Should you chose the democrat you most agree with or the one you think has the greatest chance of loosing to the republican is up to you.
I think you mean Ron Paul. There apparently is a Ron Pahl, he's a professor and author, but not a political candidate. Ron Paul is a Republican congressman from Texas who campaigned to be the Republican nominee for the 2008 presidential election, losing to John McCain. He still has a fervent fanbase, and is notable for his libertarian policies which were at odds with most of the other candidates. More info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ron_Paul
Donald J. Trump
I think (election) campaign is the phrase you are looking for. After a candidate is nominated he runs a campaign to try to convince voters to vote for him in the upcoming election.
