NO ONE dropped the A-bomb in anger! The US President wanted a decisive show of force to end WW2 and to force Japan to surrender. The objective was to save lives of soldiers fighting the war on both sides, even at the cost of civilian lives.
Now that we know the devastation nuclear fission causes to humans, it is very unlikely any sane leader would use nuclear weapons... but not all leaders may be as sane as others.
