Christopher Columbus also explored Spain with Magellan
Portuguese and nothing else
Sweet potatoes, cats, dead people
Portugal
Ferdinand Magellan was the first to sail from Europe westwards to Asia, and the first European to sail the Pacific Ocean. In 1519 Magellan set sail to circumnavigate the world. His fleet reached the Philippines a year and a half later.
The same thing as anyone else's Holy Bible, only his was in Portuguese.
If you're referring to King Ferdinand then it is Spain
He represented Spain even though he was born in Portugal because King Manuel of Portugal was jealous of his fame and told him to sail for someone else.
Nothing. Some one was bound to at some point.
Magellan's attempt to sail around the world began in 1519 when his fleet set sail from Seville in Spain. The ships accomplished their mission and returned in 1522 but without Magellan who died in the Philippines.
King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella of Spain sponsored Amerigo Vespucci in his voyages. The main trip being the one that brought him to the New World, which later took his name. edit by someone else: one of his voyages was funded by Portugal. The rest were Spain.
His wife Sophie Chotkavato
Here is a very good web site that talks about Magellen's voyage and his crew, and the many attempts by the crew to kill him and mutiny. Magellen himself made it to the Philippines where he was killed by a Muslim fellow by the name of Lapu Lapu (a town by the name of Lapu Lapu city now occupies the island where this took place, and where, by the way, I met my lovely wife). http://www.mariner.org/educationalad/ageofex/magellan.php Really good info!
