David Starkey wrote in "Elizabeth: The Struggle for the Throne" (p141) that Elizabeth entered the Tower through Tower Wharf, not Traitor's Gate. She arrived on Palm Sunday of 1554 and removed from the Tower on May 19 of the same year. She lived to the age of 69, and died on March 24, 1603.
