Christopher Columbus was a brave man. He was an Italian explorer, navigator, and colonizer. He was born in the Republic of Genoa in 1451. He died in 1506. His real full name is Cristoforo Colombo. His parents were Susanna Fontanarossa and Domenico Colombo. He had three children; Diego Columbus and Ferdinand Columbus.

Columbus's Discovery

In 1492, Christopher Columbus sailed the ocean blue! His first voyage ended with no discoveries in 1493. In 1493, Columbus sailed on his second voyage, yet nor not one discovery was made. That voyage concluded in 1496. Then Columbus started his third voyage in 1498, but did not succeed anything, so it ended tragically in 1500. But then, in 1502, Columbus made his fourth voyage and that's when he discovered America! At first, Columbus thought he discovered Asia, but Ferdinand Magellan was knowledgeable enough to prove, "Columbus! You got it all wrong! This is America you discovered, not Asia!" Columbus also was told by Magellan that the Earth was round, so that was incorrect as well. That great voyage ended in 1504, and that's when Columbus died two years later.
