Reporting from HMS Hermes, Mr Hanharan was not allowed to disclose the actual number of planes leaving or returning to the ship and so stated instead: "I counted them all out and I counted them all back". This quote formed the basis for the title of the book "I Counted Them All Out and I Counted Them All Back: Battle for the Falklands" authored by Brian Hanharan and Robert Fox and published by BBC books.
