Water was first confirmed to be present on the moon in 2009 when the Moon Mineralogy Mapper detected signatures of water molecules in the moon's soil. Subsequent studies have found water ice in permanently shadowed regions at the moon's poles.
Galileo Galilei found that there were spots on the sun and craters on the moon.
The first set of foot prints on the moon, were those of Apollo 11 astronauts. And they will be there for years to come, as there is no wind or rain to wipe it out for good.
It was the first moon they found which associated with the faint G-Ring. Astronomers theory is that each ring is supported by moons. They had not found a moon on the G-ring so they couldn't explain why the G-Ring had formed. When they found Aegaeon their theory could acctualy make sense.
I found my mistake. It's not on or after the first full moon, it's the Sunday following the full Moon which falls on or after the Spring equinox.
