Well there is a possibility that Tongans are the natives of South America. Some fled to the Island now called Tonga, others fled to the island now called Samoa. That is if Tongans and Samoans are the natives of South America. So there is not just one person who was the first to be Tongan, there were many people who became the first Tongans. If you want to know who those people were, nobody knows. Unless one of the first Tongans are still alive. That will be cool if I saw one of my first ancestors.
The full name of the main island of Tonga is Tongatapu (the forbidden south). The first people to arrive and dwell upon the island were the Lapita people. They at first settled in a fishing villiage called Nukuleka about 3,000 years ago. This information is according to Canadian archaeologist professor David V. Burley. In 2008 he stated that Tonga was the "cradle of polynesia." His finding challenged claims made by samoa, in advertising itself for decades as the "cradle of polynesia." According to the professor David V. Burley, it was at Nukuleka that theses Lapita peoples or "Melanesians," after settling.. developed a new culture with social structures upon this island, becoming a distinct people.. "Polynesians," before sailing off to colonise the uninhabited islands of the pacific.
The Tongan archipelago has been inhabited for over 3000 years The Tu'i Tonga (the first true "tongan" ruling dynasty) was created around the year 900AD with 'Aho'eitu as the first Tu'i Tonga and ended in 1875 with the death of Laufilitonga The islands of Tonga were united into a kingdom in 1845 by Taufa'ahau (a Tu'i Kanokupolu) and in 1875 declared a Constitutional Monarchy.
There are 176 islands in Tonga, 36 of these islands are inhabited. The islands are divided into three main groups: Tongatapu, Vava'u and Ha'apai
The past 4000 B.C. the Polynesians first arrived to Tonga. There are many legends and myths of how Tonga came about. But the one I know that is true is how our first King became king. Tonga has 6 inhabited islands, Tongatapu, Vava'u, 'Eua, Haapai, Niuafo'ou and Niuatoputapu. Each island had a king of its own. The king of Tongatapu won all conquered all the island through battle. This man became the king.
Tonga was always Tonga when it started. But it orgionally called the Tu'i Tonga Empire when it started in 900BC
Greece was first inhabited in the 700th BC.
Tonga is the first country to see the new day. Tonga is the first country to see the new day.
The first inhabited place to experience the new day is an island in the Pacific called Kiritimati, in the nation of Kiribati. The first place where the day begins; however, is the uninhabited Caroline Island, which is also in Kiribati.
The fist land inhabited by humans was Africa.
