This depends entirely on what you define as English. Language changes slowly over time and while each generation can communicate with its children, they may be unable to communicate with someone five or ten generations later. As a result, the older the document, the more distant that English will be from the present, until you may no longer understand it, but others still might. There are probably several different generations who exist in this zone of partial comprehension, not a single person.
