Chiropractic came into existence in 1895 in Davenport, Iowa when D.D. Palmer adjusted the janitor of his office building, Harvery Lillard. Following an adjustment of the spine, Mr. Lillard remarked that his hearing had improved after losing it a decade earlier in a horse accident. This made D.D. Palmer recognize the importance connection between the brain, spinal cord, nerve function, and health of the body.
