Who founded the Red Cross?
The swiss businessman Henry Dunant founded the Red Cross just
after the Solferino Battle (Italy) in 1859.
He founded the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC)
in 1863 and inspired the first Geneva Convention in 1864. He
received the Nobel Peace Price in 1901.
As for Clara Barton, she organized the creation of The American
Red Cross in the 1870s.
