His third queen, Jane Seymour, gave birth to Edward who eventually became King Edward. He was Henry's only legitimate son.
It is known that Henry also fathered a son by Bessie Blount but as this son was illegitimate he could not take his place in the line of succession. He was, however, given the title of Duke of Richmond (if memory serves me correctly).
There may well have been other illegitimate sons.
Henry had sons with Catherine of Aragon, but none of them survived infancy. The only son of Henry VIII to survive childhood was Edward VI with Jame Seymour,Edward VI died at 15.

Jane Seymour produced a healthy living heir.
Henry wanted an annulment granted, as when he realised Catherine of Aragon could not provide him with a son (he wanted a male heir to the throne), he wanted rid! The reason he came up with was that their marriage was not legal in the first place, as in the bible it says something like THOU SHALT NOT TAKE YOUR BROTHERS WIFE..... well, this is the reasoning Henry used.
No he was second in line, first in line was Arthur Tudor but he died on the 2nd April 1502 meaning Henry was Henry VII heir to the throne.
Because Henry was the King and he wanted it.
Jane Seymour
i think he loved Jane Seymour the most, she gave him the son and heir he had always wanted, and he was buried next to her.
King Henry wanted an heir to the throne. As henry only had one son, he wanted more so the throne would never go to the Scottish
King Henry VIII (8th).
King Henry VIII of England married six times, mainly because he wanted an undisputed, male heir to the throne. He feared that there might be a civil war after his death, similar to "The Wars of the Roses" in which his father King Henry VII had become King by defeating King Richard III in battle.
Anne Boleyn was the second wife of King Henry VIII. She died by execution after it was ordered by her husband. King Henry wanted her dead because he wanted to marry another woman and she was unable to give him an heir.
no he didnt.john wanted to explore himself and king Henry gave him permission to
Henry the 8th was mean to his wives because he wanted a male heir to the throne after he died. The only wife he liked was Jane Seymour because she gave him a son but he may have been nice to her also because she only lived a short time and didn't live long enough for Henry to moan at.
no he wanted to be king
I don't believe that any historians believe that King Henry VIII simply wanted to be the head of the Church in England. What Henry wanted, more than anything else, was a legitimate heir, and he was willing to go to any lengths, even apostasy and heresy to see that accomplished.
