Let's put it this way the argentinians supporting Eva Perón are the blue collar workers. She gave a lot of money and benefits to them (in detriment of the rest of the country). All the Peron's politics and decisions were about them....(of course the money she gave away was not hers, it was from taxes). The reason they are famous is because most of the country comes from the working class (blue collar, again the distinction, because to them, the rest of the workers are not really workers unless they do physical jobs). They are like saints here....to them.... Don't be fooled by the fact they are known worldwide. They are more hated than loved here, they promoted "shoes, not books" meaning the educated and middle and upper class are evil (except for them of course) and deserve nothing, only the working class deserves everythimg. It's still a controversial topic.
