(in the US) The US recognizes the same diplomatic immunity for foreign officials as is accorded to the US by their nation.

Although I'm sure the State Deparement may have statistics on this number, I am not aware of where this information may be found. Try calling the State Department Dept. Office of Public Affairs.

Diplomatic immunity (of varying levels) is afforded to foreign personnel accredited to a nations embassy abroad in a 'host' country. Some Consular Officers have full diplomatic immunity, while lesser officials and support staff of the embassy have a lesser and different kinds of immunity. This immunity is awarded to them by the host country in direct proportion to the level of immunity afforded to the host country's diplomats in the embassy's home country.
