Thai people esp. aristocratic families love to go to Hua Hin for vacation. declared a royal resort in the 1920s, Hua Hin is the King's residence and as such is relatively free of crime and drugs. it's about 2 hours from Bangkok and a well kept secret. it boasts some of the freshest seafood in Thailand and world-class spas like Chivasom.
Most of my Thai friends, businessmen and women run away to Hua Hin for the long weekends. The place is slowly opening up to tourists who are changing the landscape of this small fishing village. so if you want to go, the sooner the better.
Outside Thailand, those Thais who can afford it choose Japan, HongKong or Australia as their favorite holiday destinations.

Mostly UK people go there for the holiday, but there are many more.
