The Guardians that you may be referring to are found at Genesis 3:24 which reads, "So he drove the man out, and he posted at the east of the garden of E′den the cherubs and the flaming blade of a sword that was turning continuously to guard the way to the tree of life."

These Angels; specifically cherubs, are creatures of high rank having special duties, distinguished from the order of seraphs. They are mentioned 91 times in The Bible. We do not know if there were more than 2 Cherubs stationed in the garden of Eden. The tabernacle was set up with representations of Cherubs, there were cherubs in the detailed architectural plans in Solomon's temple. These Cherubs were not fashioned after the monstrous winged images worshipped by pagan nations, these cherubs were in human form, fine works of art representing angelic creatures of glorious beauty.
