Hispanic-American is similar to the term African-American. It is misused as the politically correct term to describe people of color of African descent. African American does not refer to all people of African descent. People from the Mediterranean countries of Africa and descendents of European settlers who have lived for a half-dozen generations in Africa are not called "African American". Hispanic-American is being used to describe anyone with a Spanish accent that has physical features of the Mezo-American peoples. Latinos with European features are rarely lumped with this group.
