There are many candidates for who has the most ineffective military, but most likely Haiti, one of the world's poorest country, would be ranked the worst in view of their severe corruption, lack of training, theft of equipment, and uneducated soldiers. Tiny countries without enemies such as Bermuda, the Vatican, and San Marino need a police force instead of a military, and they spend and train accordingly.

∙ 15y agoAntigua and Barbuda have the worst army in the world with only 245 troops. The Vatican city only has soldiers that Switzerland supplies, and they're mostly ceremonial.

Military spend time away from their loved ones. Military sacrafice a normal life. I realize many police consider themselves para-military but they are simply.....police. Not members of the military. If police with no military service want to be called vets or want to join vetrans organizations or be honored a veterans........join the military.

Why do people hate the armed forces?
Could be for a number of reasons. People who joined, only to find out they couldn't hack it, tend to have animosity towards the military. I know a lot of people who've joined and have been sent to Iraq, only to find out it was going to lead to some of the worst experiences of their entire life. They're not going to be particularly fond of the military. And, of course, there are people who have been genuinely screwed over by the military.
