Some people hate The Beatles, just like some people hate everything. I, for one, never liked them that much, but I don't hate them. I just don't think they're as important as other things in life.
Pop did. Allan Sherman said so. The Velvet Underground also thought of themselves as the "Anti-Beatles".
Although many will say the Rolling Stones, they were good friends. The Beatles even gave them their first big hit with "I Wanna Be Your Man" (the Beatles later did this song themselves on Meet the Beatles). I would say that Elvis Presley was very 'anti-Beatle' (If that's what you mean). He hated these guys and even went to Richard Nixon and asked if he could get them off the charts! So I would say that Elvis Presley was the anti-Beatles.
For me, it has to be The Beatles—I can appreciate the impact they had on music history and everything, but their songs have never really spoken to me. Maybe it's just because we had a Beatles-themed marching band show in high school and I hated every second of it, but I have never once thought, "Oh wow this Beatles song really slaps."
its a social commentary about Class and Corporate Greed. it has nothing to do with cops. cops was brought into it when Charles Manson claimed how much he liked the song and how much he hated cops.
