Actually Theseus killed the Minotaur with his bare hands. The princess of Crete gave him the magic thread to find his way out of the Labyrinth.
In the labyrinth at Knossos palace, Crete. King Minos had Daedalus (the best architect ever lived) to build a labyrinth (a complicated maze, one you will never escape) to hold his step-son, the Minotaur. So the Minotaur resides in the Labyrinth. In the labyrinth beneath King Minos' Palace in Knossos. He did not live long.

Daedalus,Athenas son was an architect. He made the Labyrinth. The Labyrinth is connected to him and if he dies the Labyrinth dies (dissapears). The Labyrinth is a maze full of traps and monsters which orginated from Greek Mythology. Daedalus was trapped by King Milos. Daedalus had a son who died as they were escaping from Milos and his men. Milos later on died. I got this info from the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series book #4. The Percy Jackson series is great if your interested in Greek Mythology. I would recommanded reading it. Hope this helped!

As he wandered through the labyrinth of trees, he became increasingly disoriented, until he had no idea where he was going or where he had come from.
Theseus was beloved by a Princess of Crete, Ariadne, who helped him escape the Labyrinth.
