Genesis 37
The locations of the story verse etc do not change between the catholic and evangelical bibles the only major difference is that the catholic Bible contains the Apocrypha which is a set of books covering the 400 year gap between the old and New Testament.
This was Joseph, favourite son of Jacob. The story is told in Genesis 37.

I do not know of any character in the Bible who said this. However, Jacob made his second youngest son, Joseph, a coat of many colours, (Genesis 37.3).

Joseph had 11 brothers, making a total of 12 sons in their family.
Joseph was given a coat of many colours y his father Jacob long ago, as it is written in the book of Genises the first book.
I imagine they would have used a primitive cross-stitch surely?
