There is no true meaning to the blue on the American flag. Betsy Ross added the blue to make the stars brighter. The original flag was read and had red stars.
Actually its "Betsy" Ross and yes she did make U.S. flags... but she did NOT design or make the first U.S. flags. Francis Hopkinson is credited with making the first U.S. flags with 13 six-pointed stars.
George Washington asked Betsey Ross to sew the American Flag.
The story of her making the flag was made up by her grandchildren after her death so she didn't make the flag. She buried two husbands and a woman alone in the 1700's didn't have the opportunities women have today so she would have faced many hardships as a single woman. Living in Boston during the British siege and occupation would also have been miserable. Food wa low, wood was nonexistent, and it was a very cold winter. This would have been hard to live through.
noone knows for sure...noone in present day was there so we do not have anything saying she did or that if she didnt.Do some of your own research, and come up with what u beleive.
Betsy Ross herself sewed the flag but George Washington designed the flag. After Betsy Ross looked at the design she made a few changes. She then started to make our first American flag.
Martha Washington did not invent the flag Betsy ross did
George Washington asked Betsy to make the first Flag.
Congress has recognized Francis Hopkins as the creator of the flag. He designed the flag for the Navy in 1776. The story about Ross is just that a story and is not true.
