The last time England was successfully conquered was 1066, by William the Conquerer. He sailed over from Normandy to invade Hastings and then travelled to the capital ( Winchester)

He then set about changing the face of the English life for good, by establishing Cathlocism and changing the capital to London. He started the DOOMSDAY book , by invading saxon villages and enforcing taxation and bringing about the first census ever. Noting family names, location and vocation.

however the last successful invasion of mainland England was by the dutch.
