Shelby super cars, tuatara is rated at 1350hp TT v8
Depends on what you consider a super car, and in what year. In general in my opinion it has to have over 550hp today. In the 1980's 400hp was a big deal. in the 60's V8 super cars had 450+hp. GT40's, Plymouth superbirds, 427 gt500's.
V8 super cars will live or last as long as they are maintained and operated properly, just like any car. Most super cars are delicate and require expensive maintenance. One run gently and maintained correctly will be with us for ever. Run hard or abused and they won't last a single year.
Ford has made many high performance cars over the years, but if you define Muscle cars as smaller cars that manufacturers have stuffed big V8 engines in and not purpose built race cars, you could make a good case for the 1967 Mustang with a 390 cid engine. The 1961 Ford Galaxy with the 401 H.P. 390 V8 and the 1962 Ford Galaxy equipped with a 405 H.P. 406 V8, were defiantly muscle cars.
