The first patent for the pneumatic cylinder was issued in 1940 in the US to Samuel Clegg and Jacob Selvan. Alfred Beach was given a patent in 1865 for a pneumatic subway train using a giant pneumatic tube.
On 7th December 1888, John Dunlop invented the air-filled or pneumatic tires for his son and tested it in Cherryvale sports ground, South Belfast, Northern Ireland. A pneumatic tire is made of reinforced rubber and filled with compressed air; used on motor vehicles and bicycles etc. Pneumatic tires may be prone to punctures but are lighter than solid core tires and have more shock absorbency.
The pneumatic system controlled by electronic systems.
Pneumatic is defined as air driven and therefore the two terms are synonomous. However pneumatic is not as frequently used in describing a valve.
both pneumatic & hydraulic systems are applications of fluid powers
a jackhammer uses a pneumatic system.the jackhammer is a direct combination of a hammer and a chisel
The jackhammer was invented by Charles Brady King
Running from a compressor, a pneumatic motor. Others use electric or petrol motors.
your mom made the first jackhammer
A Scottish doctor, John Dunlop invented the first pneumatic rubber tire in 1887
In 1895, André Michelin was the first person to use pneumatic tires. those make the ride smoother.
In 1888, a Scottish doctor John Dunlop invented and used the first pneumatic rubber tire on bicycles.

In 1861 a French engineer, German Sommelier, came up with the idea of the pneumatic pick or jackhammer while working on the Mont Cenis tunnel, which would link Italy with France. Engineers at the time said the tunnel project would take thirty years to complete. Sommelier worked with steam-powered drills and compressed air to invent the more efficient pneumatic drill pick that became know as the jackhammer. The tunnel was completed in 1871, some twenty years ahead of schedule.
