*Alexander Corvinus was the first original immortal. Pure blood legacy; drink his blood and you become invincible (nothing can kill you unless you are drained of blood). Marcus and William were born pure immortal but then their blood became tainted or weak; Marcus bitten by bat and William bitten by wolf. Being that the movies say Alexander Corvinus was the only one with the power to kill his sons, means that he was pretty damn powerful. Now, Selene drank Mr. Corvinus's blood, it made her ultimately a new race of 'immortal'. It made her more pure, though she still needs blood, just not as often. She can heal as fast as she is wounded now. She can revive other vampires etc. She's now like Mr Corvinus, except gets thirsty once every 100 years or so, whereas before, she had to feed all the time. Drinking his blood made her more immortal than vampire.*
