You should be nice to your friend, but not so much that your friend actually thinks your being nice to them because of the secondary school thing. My friend didn't get her first choice of secondary school and she really wanted to go there, and people in my class kept talking about it around her and she got upset. Try not to mention it, or try to mention the good points about the school that your friend is going to, like say... it is only a couple of minutes walk from my school or it beat my school in the test results for years in a row. Although me and my other friends are trying not to mention it in front of my friend even though it is hard.
