In Slavic folklore, Baba Yaga (or Baba Jaga) is a witch with beady eyes, stringy hair, and a long nose covered with warts. She lived somewhere in Russia inside a hut perched on chicken legs. The hut was surrounded by human skulls which Baba Yaga received by devouring people. She would fly through the air inside a pot.
She flew around in a giant mortar, (a mixing bowl) pushing herself through the air with the pestle, and behind her was a broom, sweeping away all trace of her travels.
She usually ate women or children.
The moral of the Baba Yaga folklore varies depending on the version of the story. Some interpretations highlight themes of resilience, resourcefulness, and honoring one's intuition. Baba Yaga is often depicted as a complex character who challenges protagonists to grow and learn important life lessons.
I'm sure Baba Yaga was a myth.
The story tells; She lived in a house that ran around on four chicken feet, the fence was made of bones, it's latch of human hair. She flew around in a giant mortar, pushing herself through the air with the pestle and a broom behind her swept away all trace of her travels.
Flying bowls, really? haha.
I'm sure there was an old woman who was called Baba Yaga, who was a cannibal and ate women and children. They may have had a skeleton fence, because sometimes sickos do that.
But I'm sure Baba Yaga herself, (in the stories), was fake.
In some stories she is kind and helps lost travelers, but in other stories she kidnaps children and eats them.
Baba Yaga is primarily affiliated with Slavic folklore. Baba Yaga has been around since 1755 with Mikhail Lomonosov's poetry. Some estimate that Baba Yaga has been around even longer.
