He worked with Jimmy Stewart, John Wayne, Henry Fonda, Charles Laughton, Walter Pidgeon, Paul Newman, Eva Marie Saint, Sidney Poitier, Gary Cooper, Frank Sinatra. He was born in Vienna, Austria. Being Jewish, he later moved to the U.S., avoiding the Nazi's. He was later to become one of the most powerful directors in the world. Foster Hirsch has written an excellent biography, titled, "Otto Preminger, The Man Who Would Be King". The publisher is Alfred A. Knopf.
