Gackt Camui is the world's most amazingly beautiful person (saying "most beautiful man" is not enough). He's a singer too. And hails from Okinawa, Japan. And is 34 years old (turning 35 this next July 4th). He's also a well known and hyper pro model and ventured as an actor in a movie he also wrote the script for, "Moon Child" (2004) co-starring jrock leading vocalist Hyde (L'Arc en Ciel) and portraying Uesugi Kenshin in the taiga dorama "Fuurin Kazan" in 2007. He started off his music career as the singer of visual kei amazing band, Malice Mizer. Joined in 1996 and left in 1999. Gacktify your life, you won't regret it one second! www.gackt.com ~*~*~ Camui Gackt (or Gackt Camui, take your pick) is, first and foremost, a vocalist. One of his earliest known bands was Cains:Feel (sic), but his career really took off when he joined Malice Mizer - visual kei band active from 1992 to 2001 - in 1995. His vocals are featured on the albums "Voyage ~sans retour" and "Merveilles". While in Malice Mizer, he wrote most - if not all - of the lyrics, while most of the music was composed by Mana. The only song Gackt composed AND wrote was "Le Ciel" from the Merveilles album. In January 1999, Gackt left Malice Mizer for unknown reasons. He claims in his autobiography "Jihaku" ("Confessions") that his band mates had become blinded by money etc and asked him to leave. Other members of Malice Mizer say he just up and left mysteriously following a brief cessation of band activities.

Gackt jump-started his solo career on May 12, 1999, with the release of his first single "Mizerable". Since he became a solo artist he has released nearly 30 singles (as of Februrary 2009). Gackt performs with a live support band called GacktJOB. One of the principal Guitarists of this band is You, who was a guitarist in Cains:Feel.

In addition to being a vocalist, Gackt is also an actor. He will make his Hollywood debut some time in 2009 with his role as Yoshi in the film "Bunraku" directed by Guy Moshe and starring Josh Hartnett.
