Lester B. Pearson -- former Prime Minister of Canada who also won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1957 for helping to solve the Suez Crisis in Egypt. His contribution was mostly in the suggestion of placing a peacekeeping force in the region to prevent further hostilities between Egypt, on the one hand, and Britain, France and Israel, on the other. Pearson also advocated placing a maple leaf on the Canadian flag. His suggestion was ultimately adopted for the current, modern Canadian flag.
