However when Ash battled Wattson, he defeated him so easily that Wattson stopped being so cheery and became depressed. However after meeting an Electrike, he started to perk up. Wattson is the Gym Leader of Mauville City in Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, OmegaRuby and Alpha Sapphire, he has Magnemite, Magneton and Voltorb in his party in Ruby and Sapphire while he battles you with Voltorb, Electrike, Manectric and Magneton in your Gym challenge against him in Emerald but he has Mareep, Electrode, Magneton and Manectric in your first rematch against him in Emerald and in the second rematch he has Pikachu, Flaaffy, Electrode, Magneton and Manectric.
