I'm having a bit of trouble with that, so I'm going to answer WHAT is information technology? instead...... The term Information Technology was coined decades ago as a way of describing the industry that has built up around computers and electronics - everything from the massive mainframes that banks, businesses and universities have been using since the 60s to the latest, tiny microprocessors in mobile phones, PDAs and IPods, to all of the technical advancements that enable the internet to exist. They call it Information Technology because the primary purpose of computers is to move, change (`process`) and store information. IT has remained a strongly growing industry ever since the first commercial applications of computers, and it`s still "a job with a future", at least IMHO.
