Rumor 1: Veolia might consider Earth Tech a good "in" to the US environmental consulting/transportation engineering/finance-design-build-operate water systems market. Earth Tech has a good presence in Australia for water resources engineering also, which might make them attractive to such a firm. Also, given the weakness of the dollar, look for a European based firm to make an offer. Rumor 2: AECOM might look at acquiring Earth Tech. However, the usefullness of such an acquisition is suspect, as AECOM keeps it subsidiaries somewhat independent, and having Earth Tech competing in the same market as, say, Metcalf & Eddy, would be counterproductive. Perhaps URS, which is rumored to have cash to spend, and in spite of it's recent aquisition of The Washington Group, is considering a purchase?
No AECOM is buying Earth Tech.
