Nobody is fighting for their own independent state inside of Israel.

The "Palestinians" and their civic and political leaders are working toward the

establishment of an independent state, geographically comprised of

-- the "West Bank" ... territory of Jordan, administered and governed by the PLO

-- the Gaza Strip ... territory of Egypt, administered and governed by Hamas.

A significant fraction of all those involved, possibly a majority, either desire

or formally promulgate their firm intention to do away with Israel, by force

if necessary, and to absorb that area as well into their independent state.

But that's a separate subject.
