The Senators have no direct power within the state but he is part of the United States Senate. Each state has two senators. The Senate is able to make laws that affect all 50 states and can only be vetoed by the president. However, Senate still holds the power to over ride the President's veto provided they have 2/3 majority vote in senate. However, senators, by themselves, do not have power.
