Jacqueline "Jackie" Kennedy Onassis (nee Bouvier) (1929-1994) was the widow of President John F. Kennedy and later of Greek shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis. Her marriage to the latter gave her the nickname "Jackie O." She was First Lady of the United States from 1961 to 1963. She is remembered as a style icon, particularily for her pink Chanel dress worn on the day of JFK's assassination and for her dark sunglasses, known as "Jackie O sunglasses." She was harassed by paparazzis and the press from when she began dating then-congressman Kennedy in the early 1950s until her death in 1994. In 1999 she was ranked as one of the most admired people of the 20th century, one of only 2 first ladies on the list (along with Elanor Roosevelt, widow of FDR).
