How did odyssus defeat cyclops?

Odysseus realises that he can't just kill the cyclops, as that would mean there would be no one to roll the massive boulder away from the cave's entrance. So Odysseus comes up with a plan. First, he offers the cyclops some wine. (Now in ancient times the Greeks used to mix their wine with water to make it less strong) The cyclops doesn't know this and so drinks the wine neat, without any water added to it. As a result of this he gets drunk quickly and passes out. Whilst the cyclops is passed out Odysseus and his men cut a piece of olive wood off the cyclop's sheep-hearding stick and sharpen it into a point. They then heat the point in a fire so it is red hot. Next they position themselves over the cyclop's head and quickly stab the point into the cyclop's eye. The cyclop's immediately awakes and cries out in agony. Blinded, he can no longer see Odysseus or his men. In the morning when the cyclops lets his cattle out of the cave Odysseus and his men attatch themselves to the underside of the cattle. As the cattle leaves the cyclops sits at the entrance of the cave and strokes the backs of each sheep and cow to check that the men arn't escaping. Yet he fails to realise that they are really underneith the cattle and therefore Odysseus and his men escape.

When does Odyssus get the bag of winds?

Odysseus arrived on the island of Aeolia, ruled by the god Aeolus, Keeper of the Winds. Here, he was a guest for few days. Aeolus lived on the island with his wife, as well as his six sons and six daughters. Each of his son was married to one of his daughters. Upon leaving, the wind-god gave Odysseus a bag made of ox-hide, trapping all the strong winds within. Aeolus warned Odysseus not to open the bag. Odysseus sailed for nine straight days without sleep. The wind was fair and he sighted his island. Tired, Odysseus went below deck for short sleep. His men were greedy, and were curious to see what valuables was hidden in the bag, causing all the strong winds to escape. The sudden storm drove his ships off course, lasted several days. Odysseus was driven all the way back to Aeolia. Aeolus realised that he must be cursed by some gods. Aeolus refused to help Odysseus again. According to Parthenius, Odysseus had seduced one of Aeolus' daughters, named Polymela. When Aeolus found out he would have punished Odysseus, but the hero had already left the island, so Aeolus would have punished his daughter. Diores, however, intervened on his sister's behalf, and persuaded his father to let him marry Polymela.

Is Odysseus married?

Yes, he's married to Penelope. Odysseus and Penelope have a son, Telemachus. Odysseus tells Penelope, "You must promise me, if I don't come back by the time Telemachus has a beard, you must marry." Penelope promises. Odysseus, still alive after 20 years, comes back to Ithaca to find suitors (men who are trying to marry Penelope) all over his home. Penelope knew he was still alive after 20 years, but people kept telling her he was dead. Suitors are very mean. Athena discuises Odysseus as an old beggar, and he, and telemachus go to their house. Penelope doesn't know it's odyssus. she tells Odysseus (the "beggar") that he still loves Odysseus and promised that she'd marry when telemachus had a beard. he had a beard now. so she held a contest to pick a husband. the contest was to string Odysseus's box & shoot an arrow through 12 ax handles. all the suitors failed to string the bow. Odysseus, the beggar, strung the box, and shot it through the 12 ax handles. he, and telemachus, killed the suitors. Athena turned Odysseus back into his old self after he killed the suitors. Penelope didn't know if it was really Odysseus, so she told the maids to remove their bed from their tree & into another room. Odysseus got mad, since right after he left for troy, he built their house & bed around a tree. Their bed was basically their symbol. Penelope then realized it was really Odysseus. Penelope & Odysseus were then reunited with each other again. Hope I helped! (:
